MedlinePlus is a data base of links that will lead you to just about any imaginable resource for information on diseases, medical conditions and related health issues.A good place to start for legitimate medical information. It has links to sites which will allow you to dig as deeply as you wish into a subject.

WebMD is a data base primarily for physicians and health care professionals. However, it has a section devoted to consumers and features a HealthMed Library, On-line Chats, News in Medicine and Message Boards.

The National Health Information Center (NHIC) is a health information referral service. NHIC puts health professionals and consumers who have health questions in touch with those organizations that are best able to provide answers. NHIC was established in 1979 by the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (ODPHP), Office of Public Health and Science, Office of the Secretary, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

ON THE INTERNET

QUACKWATCH Inc., a member of Consumer Federation of America, is a nonprofit corporation whose purpose is to combat health-related frauds, myths, fads, and fallacies. Its primary focus is on quackery-related information that is difficult or impossible to get elsewhere. Its activities include:
